I received an email today from the executive director of 4 Paws for Ability. Our fundraising totals are $14,246!!!!!!!!! This means that not only has Wyatt met the fundraising requirement for a service dog, but you have also blessed other families with $3,246 toward their dogs! Moms have posted on our Yahoo group while crying their eyes out. Some have been fundraising for over two years, and your wonderful, generous, loving gifts have enabled them to finish their fundraising requirements to get the service dogs that their children desperately need.
IF YOUR CONTRIBUTION WAS MAILED DIRECTLY TO 4 PAWS THEY ARE TREATED AS ANONYMOUS DONATIONS, SO I DO NOT HAVE THOSE DONORS' NAMES! I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING FROM PLEADING TO CAJOLING TO ANNOYING TO NO AVAIL. IT IS JUST THEIR POLICY.
PLEASE KNOW THAT YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE OUR GRATITUDE AND WE KEEP YOU ALL IN OUR PRAYERS!!
Wyatt has been placed in the August 2008 class! What this means is that our family will travel to Xenia, Ohio and stay there for two weeks while we are trained on the proper care, continued training and general handling of Wyatt's dog. We have sent in a detailed video of Wyatt in several settings so 4 Paws can custom TAILor his dog to his specific needs. We are not informed of the breed or color yet. That will happen about a week before we leave for class. (This is to prevent us from falling in love with a dog that 4 Paws may have to switch out because of a training issue.)
We are SO excited and thankful! I will post soon to keep all of you updated (now that my password issue has been resolved!)
